Melanie (she/her) has always called Vancouver her home. She is a graduate of Evergreen Public Schools where she now oversees the Family & Community Resource Center (FCRC) Program. She was honored to be named the 2016 Washington State Classified School Employee of the Year and recognized as Accomplished and Under 40 for her leadership and development of the FCRC Program. She serves on the Clark County Community Action Advisory Board, Continuum of Care Steering Committee and is an LCC Class of 2018 alum and serves on the board of directors and various committees. Melanie is a 4x cancer survivor and has been involved with advocacy activities and fundraisers for Congenital Heart Defects, a cause literally near and dear to her heart. She spends her free time with Kyle, her husband of 19 years, and their two kitties, Henry and Pip.
